yay, I'm especially glad you liked this ending, because I rewrote that part completely before I posted. originally it was Angel realizing Spike didn't want to wait that long and asking him to come over, but even though Spike likes Angel domming him in bed, I don't think he's passive, so I changed it, and this version rang far more true to me. so thank you for taking note of it!
thank you for your comments on Will/Spike. I was just concerned that especially with the two names, people would think of them as two separate personalities. glad to hear folks don't seem to see it that way!
