exciting chapter, I think. I'd like to thank girlpire for chatting with me about Angelus' behavior in the early part of this fic that led me to basically write this part over...it's far better for it.

Angel(us) and family

so, madame_meretrix started this really interesting discussion on a few points in fanged four flashback-canon. you should go check it out. but one of the things that came up, I'd like to pose to the flist to see if someone can explain this certain fanon assumption to me.

I've heard it said more than once that it's a given that Angel created the same family over and over again...from building the fanged four to his team at AI. as MM and I were saying, I can really see the parallels between Angelus/Darla/James/Elizabeth and the Angelus/Darla/William/Dru, but the correlation to the AI team escapes me. yes, he built himself a family with AI...he even refers to them as such directly a few times. he often calls himself Cordelia's family. but it's not clear to me that it's the "same" family as he built in the late 19th century.

Does anyone have any insight into why people might say that?
