There's a special place in my heart for jailbait fic and with the age difference between Harvey and Mike, I'm kind of surprised that, to my knowledge, it hasn't been done yet in this fandom. You're totally right, a canon compliant fic when Harvey starts out at Pearson Hardman and is seduced by a young, devil-may-care Mike with his tousled hair and the weed smoking and the sinfully pink lips would be epic. I can see how we need to know more about their backstories before you can make the characters come to life though. Damnit, Korsh et al! Get on it!
I wish my brain naturally went the way of the AU. I feel pretty bound by canon and when I start thinking "what if" I get like two or three steps out the door before my mind goes blank.
