if you look back at my fandom history, I am ALL ABOUT big age gaps and jailbait fic, lol. to the point of being tediously predictable - when I started writing sketching down some things for the Big Brother fic, I was laughing at myself, like, AGAIN? REALLY?
and yeah - backstory. it's horrible because I know it's better for the show if it's leaked to us little by little and it's always a *squeak* omg we know something new! but the writer in me is a greedy little bastard who needs it all NOW NOW NOW. this is actually the first time I've been super invested in something with open canon, so I'm feeling my way out over thin ice, wanting to stay as canon-compliant as possible. because I'm neurotic like that.
