I'm glad you liked this! this was incredibly hard for me to write. as I said in the A/N, it was six months of agony, pretty much. I'm so glad the xander-voice and the desperate kind of humor worked for you.
I think the gut twist about this fic was that Angel still had a soul...if it had been Angelus, it wouldn't have torn me up to write nearly as much.
sometimes the story just speaks for itself :) I think it ended up being a better fic for it, even if I did have to let go of the kink *sigh*
I'm glad that you feel that the way I handled the willow/xander was an effective shock as it was written. originally it was intended to be more erotic, and maybe even involve Angel as well more directly, but as it was, that would have just been wrong wrong wrong, you know? it wasn't the story I was telling anymore. that scene actually held me up for like 3 months...I just felt sick every time I tried to write it, because I felt like everyone was getting raped, in a way.
