Somnambulist

There is something that bugs me about Somnambulist. In it, Penn implies that Angel "gave him the boot" in Italy, and says he waited for him "until the 19th century". Since Penn was turned in around the year 1799 (200 years before the episode aired in 1999), the 19th century would be less than a year after his turning. And when Angel replies to this, he said he got held up in Romania, which was at the *end* of the 19th century (1898).
doesn't make much sense.
and I'm probably thinking about this way too much.
then again that's only one thing that bothers me about that episode. the chief other being, Angelus had this other childe who was never mentioned at all before or since.

Date: 2006-05-28 02:34 am (UTC)... and hey, maybe Penn was just a disappointment and Angelus didn't like to talk about him!
(I thought they were purposefully leaving the number of vampires Angelus had turned open ended, that way they could pop more in when they felt like it without treading on canon too much. Lawson... Im looking at you)

Date: 2006-05-28 02:43 am (UTC)that's how I would interpret things too with Penn, but that just seems so weird, that he was around for 100 years with Angelus and gets hardly a mention. not to mention, where was he in the fanged four flashbacks, like when William was turned.
I totally think these are just jossy plot holes, but my brain desperately tries to make cannon sense of them :)

Date: 2006-06-01 10:35 am (UTC)Yeah Penn was just never mentioned again, lol! Also - another bug i have about Lawson. In some episode in season two ... when Darla was there? With syphilus (sp?) and she wanted Angel to turn her? they'd tried everything and Angel says to her (sorry i dont remember the episode) but he says something like 'maybe I can turn you, i have a soul, i dont know how that will affect you' but see... he *does* because Lawson happened *before* that. duh
