any plant people out there?

my parents were here for an hour yesterday and I needed valium. well, not really because I didn't have any, but recreational use would have been appreciated.
oh, yeah. um, so just a very specific question. I like keeping houseplants but I know thismuch about botany and plant husbandry. really, I'm an animal girl. :) so here's my dilemma.
I have this uh. leafy plant. hahaha. I can't tell you what kind, it was given to me and I haven't a clue. but it's got big flat happy leaves, no flowers. he and his identical friend were outside in the cold rain for a few days before I moved. *is a bad plant mommy* it wasn't freezing, but not far off--it got down into the upper 30s, and was in the 40s the rest of the time. and yeah, raining. now my big happy friend looks kinda...bleached out, for lack of a better descriptor. like his leaves look unnaturally pale. his identical friend, who is less leafy and voluminous, was out in the same conditions and is perfectly fine.
so uh. what the hell is wrong with this guy and how do I nurse him back to health? or *is* something wrong with him? am I being a plant mommy hypochondriac? :)
