so I swear that lj used to retain more characters in the "keyword" line of their icons, because a bunch of my icon credits are now chopped prematurely. I didn't notice until I was going through and re-saving all my icons (because my hard drive with ALL my fandom stuff went kaput *wails*)

this is the only icon maker that I can't figure the complete name to, even after some educated guessing, and I want to make sure everyone is properly credited. ayudame?

in related news, I had a bunch of Perv edits nearly done that will now, obviously, not be happening, because they were all on the drive, along with the source material.

similarly, I was thinking about picking back up with strength in numbers, which I've had mapped out since its conception...but I haven't touched it in so long, I no longer have a copy anywhere but on the drive :/ technically none of the contents on the drive are *lost*, it's just too expensive for me to retrieve the data until I can find a friend to do it cheaper. I don't know as many computer geeks as I used to, and the ones I have, I like to save for emergencies :)

HOLY SHIT, IT'S SNOWING. I just looked out the window and...wtf. it snowed briefly just last year, as well. before that? it had maybe snowed 3 times in the last 20 years.

global climate change is a myth, my ass.

Just seen someone else from your part of the world say the same thing.

Bizarre. And very sorry about your HD. Hope you can get your stuff off it soon.

it's nutty, dude. I mean, it's anemic in terms of snow, but still.

... if 9 out of 10 doctors suggest you have cancer, and 1 thinks you'll be fine, are you gonna get chemo?

i had to sit through a ridiculous 'debate' on climate change for work. enough with the 'debating'. that's so 1998.

... it was an analogy a co-worker used about the merits of debating at this point.

AH. *smacks forehead* duh. sorry, blond moment.

yeah, since most sane and informed dissenters only have a problem with the "anthropogenic" and not the "climate change" itself, my way to short-circuit the argument is that even if we only have control over a small portion of the causation, the end product is going to be detrimental enough that we should avert what we can and lessen the damage.

course, I'm in Texas, so many of the dissenters I meet are insane and ill-informed, in which case my way to short-circuit their argument is telling them they're an idiot.

it actually only escalates the problem, but it makes *me* feel better, so fuck it :)

that's where mine got cut off too. hrm. if I recall (vaguely), I got that icon from somebody else because the text was niftier than a similar icon I had.

....maybe I just copied the truncated username from whoever this mysterious third party is, lmfao.

I used to live in NC :) Raleigh, went to State. yall are even mood-swingier than Texas with the weather, haha. tank tops one day, ice storm the next, so maybe you'll get another heat wave yet

I'm sorry to hear about your HD. That's really gotta suck.

As for snow... we got plenty of the fluffy, white stuff where I live and will probably keep getting it at least until April.

But it'll be all right. I'm pretty used to it by now.

it does, it does! it sucks mightily.

hee! I've lived in snowy places before, which makes it funnier the way people FLIP THEIR SHIT over a few flakes that don't even stick to the ground. my mom sent me an email last night whose subject line was "survived the weather" and I rolled my eyes so hard, I dislocated something.

Sorry to hear about all your work that got lost. I can imagine that's a lot of time and effort there. Just wanted to say I appreciated the edits you've made before!
