catching up on tv after my week of unconsciousness, but it's the question I ask myself every time I watch spn these days. it's not that I think it's bad, although it kinda is, it's that I don't CARE.

I have a theory that the world really did end with Michael v. Lucifer, and every season since then has been the result of Sam and Dean's fevered brains trying to cope with the reality of a zombie apocalypse. Like JR's dream on Dallas, only...spn-y.

okay, that's not going to be the case, but christ, I wish the show had died with Kripke. Swan Song would have been an epic fucking tv-changing series finale.

instead we're stuck watching these fuckers limp along for...god, how many more seasons have they committed to now? I'm only half kidding about the zombie thing. IT WON'T DIE. an admirable quality in the Winchester men themselves...not so much in the show.

heh. k, rant done. been holding that one in for a very long time.

I'm with you. I sort of can't stop watching, but find pretty much all of the Leviathan story line to be completely horrible.

And even the MOW eps aren't really doing it for me anymore, either. :(

god, well and now idefk what's going on this season, I just don't give a shit. but I'm a completist, so like you, I have a hard time just dropping it.

Yeah. And then I had a dream this afternoon that had Dean in it, finally getting what he deserves: rest, and a happy place.

I've read season synopses, and hee hee. Cray-cray. So glad I stopped watching. The word most used seems to be "mysteriously", apart from new angel names every three sentences.

It's why I stopped watching after Swan Song... I sort of feel bad about it because it's still Sam&Dean, but.

yeah, fuck my completist tendencies. it's basically something to put in front of my eyeballs, so I'm hoping to adopt enough other shows that I don't feel the need to do that anymore.

I started watching Supernatural on Netflix so I'm halfway though season 1. But I have heard that I should make the choice about whether or not I want to keep watching after Season 5.

I am looking forward to Felicia Day's recurring character though so I'll probably sludge my way though it.

yeah, the first five seasons had some hit or miss moments, but they really make an arc. season 5 tied up all the loose ends they were going to tie up, and everything since then has just been the zombie-walk of not-cancelled. I'd definitely say watch the first 5...after that, only if you're bored, lol.

Yes, I'm remembering their early jokes about Sam and Dean being in wheelchairs and walkers and still hunting. Unfortunately that would be far more interesting if there was still any character development going on instead of the constant retreads of their relationship issues.

I stopped watching at the end of that season. I literally know nothing about what happened after Lucy and Mike fight. And I'm not even sorry.

I keep occasionally attempting to watch it when it shows up on my DVR but then I usually get bored and delete it half way through. It makes me sad because I loved the show SO MUCH and it's just... meh now.

this is EXACTLY what happens to me. the number of episodes I've downloaded and then never watched to the end...

small rant ahead

I miss my show...the last episode had a 'cw' feel not my grity spn.

I'm conflicted when one of my shows becomes 'prime-time'. It seems a catch 22, I want to share the awesomeness but I don't want anyone to know about my baby =) Most times bit of the special spark seems to disappear.

yeah, I find it hilarious that it's somehow become the cash cow after the quality has completely been drained out of it. there's probably a relationship between those two things, but damned if I can figure out what it is...

You still watch Supernatural?!

Dear lord. What's happening these days?

After the season six finale I swore to block out all of season six and never speak of it again.
For me, SPN finished after season five.
So I guess to me Swan song was an "epic fucking tv-changing series finale." :D Because it so was!

I toyed with watching season seven, then realised that it just wasn't worth the risk. And I didn't care, either.

It's kind of sad, but these days, when shows don't finish unless they're losing money, you sometimes have to say 'Ok, I've had enough now. I have loved you dearly but the writers have killed you and it's time to say good night and remember the good times"

Out of (morbid) curiosity, why have you stopped caring?

I don't know, there's something about purgatory. and angels. lol. *shrugs*

and yeah, there should be euthanasia for tv shows when ratings fail to reflect quality.

honestly, I stopped caring because there's nothing TO care about. the apocalypse came and fucking went, and they haven't managed to adequately replace it with a compelling "what's next."
