I know I have friends who enjoy the teen wolf fandom, and ship the ship that I'm currently refusing to name.

so I just wanted to let you know that if you ever see my vitriol on tumblr and it makes you feel bad, just remember: I like you. and if (when) I firebomb that entire fandom to the ground, I'll smuggle you out first. gently. there will be cookies.

I still watch it because I'm a masochist (that's literally the only valid explanation at this point). I might not even hate the show so much (I'd probably be completely indifferent) if it weren't for the fandom. I can't get over the crack that they're smoking. it's boggling, and occasionally my rage is incandescent. lol. sometimes I think I'm crazier for being angry about it than they are for being crazy in the first place.

so, one of the two guys in the main ship (Derek, the other is Stiles) now has a canonical love interest and people are throwing a shit fit, which...*yawn*, right? it's not even that I ship the guy with this chick, but their objections are making me crazy - the latest is that they cast an actress that LOOKS like Stiles and that they're patterning that whole het relationship after the slash one (which they imagined up in the first place - the characters hardly interact). the whole fandom has the most pronounced sense of entitlement that their ship become canon that I've seen yet, and coupled with how UTTERLY DELUSIONAL they also are, it just makes me want to cut a bitch. I spend a lot of time shouting "really? what? really?" at my dash. it's rabid tinhattery, without a reason for them to have put on their tin hats to begin with.

really, it's more accurate to say I find him annoying and completely devoid of the gravitas we're supposed to believe he has. I think the hate is just a transfer emotion.

If I were at all capable of not devouring thousands and thousands of words per week in TW fic, I'd have tumblr savioured all this crap ages ago. Ship wars bore me, tinhattery drives me up a wall, and fan entitlement makes me want to curl up under my bed and hide until they go away.

And yet I can't stop reading all the fic D: I so wish some of it didn't push my buttons so very well, ugh.

I honestly don't know why I'm still in that fandom. I'm completely in love with the cast and can happily watch the show till the world ends, and read the fic because omg there's some really amazing fic, but certain portions of the tumblr fandom have gone completely batshit. I have never felt so ashamed of being a multishipper before (not even in Suits and that's saying something) and I find myself taking breaks from tumblr/twitter just to escape the second-degree-separation exposure I get to the wank. I'm not even getting any of the direct hate; I just see it pop up on my dash when people I follow respond to it. It's really harshing my mellow.
