life sucks. play a game with me :)

I'm bummed about fandom the past week, dude. there's so much bad energy flying around, and some of my favorite people appear to have flown the coop several months ago, and things are just slow this week. it's sucktastic, and everyone I've talked to is feeling drained.
but let's not talk about any of that at all. really. not a word. what I want to do is cheer us up.
I want to know 5 things that made you fall in love with Spike and Angel, as individuals. five for Spike, and five for Angel. for those of you who like one and not the other, by all means just do the one you like. but if you love em both, gimme em both.
no physical attributes. we all love James' abs and David's puppy eyes. we know this. I'm talking characterization, people. and also uh...since the exercise is feel-good vibes, no picking on each other's characterization, no matter how wacko you think it is. if you love Angel for wearing stripey socks, I will not remind you that you're thinking of David :D
...oh, I suppose I should kick us off first, huh? ok:
Angel:
1. I love that he has a sense of humor that no one expects and therefore, that very few people get.
2. I love that, despite knowing he should find Spike's shenanigans completely unconscionable, he still gets a kick out of them sometimes, even though he'd never let Spike know it.
3. I love that even when he was soulless, and even though he didn't believe he was capable of love at all, he loved Darla as an equal and a partner in crime, Dru as a spoiled daughter (no, really), and Spike in spite of himself.
4. I love him as a dad, and everything that went with that.
5. I love that stubbornly, inevitably, he will always be a cowboy at heart.
Spike:
1. I love that he is so freaking pussy-whipped. but he won't hesitate to conk Dru over the head, and then lovingly settle her against his side as they ride off into the sunset. *snerk*
2. I love that when you get him around Angel, he's 12. in all senses of the age.
3. I love that he's a pathological liar when it comes to his image. how'd you get that soul again, Spike? he's so good, he convinces himself.
4. I love that he's a weeble. *watches him wobble*
5. This is probably wrong of me, but I like his tendency to reach for a bottle of liquor as soon as things go wrong. *snickers* what? I like my fantasy men dysfunctional.
*leans her head in her hands and waits for all of you to share.

Date: 2007-03-04 01:21 am (UTC)1. I love how he is so NOT the Big Bad he claims to be. Like in Initiative when he couldn't bite Willow, he gets all weepy and insecure. Needing her reassurance.
2. I love how he cannot keep his mouth shut, even when it almost gets him killed. With Riley, Taunting Glory.
3. I love that he doesn't make apologies for what he is.
4. I love his loyalty to Buffy. Even though she didn't deserve it. Time and time again he proved it.
5. I love the intensity of his feelings all of them.

Date: 2007-03-04 02:50 am (UTC)that's a VERY good one. I love that about him too.
omg, your icon. lmfao.

Date: 2007-03-04 01:36 am (UTC)1. His vulnerability when Dru bites him in "Fool for Love," which is the first scene I ever saw him in.
2. His bluster and bravado when he tells Buffy about getting vamped, which is the second scene I ever saw him in.
3. The fact that he's a fool for love. Been there, done that, and I can so *totally* relate.
4. His insecurities. *pets him*
5. The fact that, despite all his insecurities, he is completely, utterly secure in his sexuality, and is not afraid to direct it at anyone and everyone when it suits his purposes.
Yeah, that was just one episode. *G*
I first fell in love with Angel in AtS S1's "Five by Five." So, I guess the things that struck me about him were:
1. His understanding of the darkness in the human soul--the way he's able to connect with and understand people who have been or done evil.
2. His capacity for forgiveness. (I was always amazed that he was, eventually, able to forgive Wes for taking Connor.)
3. His take-no-prisoners determination to save anyone and everyone.
4. The fact that he's insecure around people, and is kind of afraid of Cordelia. :)
5. The fact that, despite all his insecurities, he is completely, utterly secure in his alpha-ness.
I love my boys. *draws hearts around them*

I give a hearty 'amen!' to both of those.
drawing hearts around the boys? I think I have an icon for that :D *points*

Date: 2007-03-04 01:39 am (UTC)Angel:
1. love that he bought tiny hockey sticks when Conner was like a month old
2. love the way he would let Cordelia boss him around and write her own paychecks
3. love that he's Mr. Cool, but can't sing or dance AT ALL
4. love that he keeps giving people chances, even though other people (read:Buffy) think he probably shouldn't; Wesley, Faith
5. love how seriously he takes himself, with the hair and the jacket and the brooding
Spike:
1. love the way he is with Dawn, especially when they read Giles' journal and first found out she was the Key
2. love, love, love his nicknames for everyone, like DonutBoy, Glinda, and Niblet. And Peaches! Where the hell'd he get that anyway?
3. love that he's smart and funny and caring, but doesn't want anyone to know.
4. love the way he fights with Angel(us)and never backs down.
5. love the way he is with Giles during Willow's "forget spell". "Randy Giles? You named me *Randy Giles*?!
This was a great idea. Hmm, I wonder if we could make it a drinking game? :)

Date: 2007-03-04 03:05 am (UTC)oh, the tiny hockey sticks! why doesn't anyone talk about the tiny hockey sticks! so superior to the tiny marshmallows *snickers*
that scene between Spike and Dawn is such a great one. he doesn't quite know how to relate to teenage girls, so he just relates to *her* instead. *loves*
a drinking game, eh? maybe...we all just keep chugging until we believe they're in our living rooms? or bedrooms, to each his own *ponders*

Date: 2007-03-04 01:44 am (UTC)1. I love how he was so protective of Dawn. Everyone should have a big brother like him. Yes, that's how I think of their relationship and why I'll never be able to read Spike/Dawn fic.
2. Yes, we all love his looks, but I also love how he managed to own his look. I mean really? Bleached hair? But he sooo made it work.
3. I love the bickering between Angel and Spike in AtS season 5. They love each other and they hate each other and they are at their best when they are together.
4. I love the way that even though Spike's not that tall and he's really a pretty good guy he believes that he is the biggest and baddest of the Big Bads.
5. I love the way Spike & Xander are totally doing it even though we never actually saw it on the show! What? I can have my fantasies, right?
no subject
Date: 2007-03-04 03:23 am (UTC)Yes, we all love his looks, but I also love how he managed to own his look. I mean really? Bleached hair? But he sooo made it work.
YES. YES. haha. and I always thought James, god love him, could never own the hair quite as well as Spike could, so it was always hotter on Spike than James. *thinks that sounds slightly schizophrenic.
Oooh! I'll play!
Date: 2007-03-04 01:44 am (UTC)1. 'I don't want to hurt you, Baby. Doesn't mean I won't"
2. Love's Bitch, but man enough to admit it.
3. He "LIKED the lady" and brought her flowers anonymously because he knew Buffy and her gang wouldn't understand that he was grieving too.
4. Solace, in so many ways, Spike gave solace to all of them.
5. He burned up from the inside out to save a world that for all he knew was rife with people that hated him. A true Hero.
5 Reasons I love Angel
1. He wasn't afraid to leave for the RIGHT reasons. When he walked away from Buffy in S3, I cheered. Not because I hated B/A, but because they couldn't be together, and yet they couldn't not be together either. He was the adult.
2. Billowy coat, king of pain. Angel wore grief and soul deep anguish well.
3. "Connor. I love you. Now get the hell out of my house." Been there, done that. And he was totally right. LOVED him standing up in that moment.
4. I loved when Angel was goofy, when he could look at himself and know that he was being a total dork. Herb, the dancing at Cordelia's party, the schmoozing he did on Halloween at Wolfram and Hart! And that he LOVED hockey! Heee! loved that about him.
5. "I kinda want to slay the dragon." Hell yes. Terrible odd, almost certain death. Count him in, if it meant stopping the machine even for just a minute. If it meant that the Senior Partners would recognize that THEY do not control US, then damn straight, he'd be there. A hero.
Re: Oooh! I'll play!
Date: 2007-03-04 03:26 am (UTC)billowy coat, king of pain. *sighs happily* and the Connor thing. YES. I always loved that he let him live on the street for a while, but he was obviously keeping an eye on him. probably not a general parenting tactic, but for that kid? yes. that's the level of tough love that's called for.

Date: 2007-03-04 02:14 am (UTC)Angel first:
For trying so hard to be a good person, even though he's not a person at all.
The conflict was often palpable and wonderful.
For his absolutely dorky sense of delight. It makes me happy, too (ie: ice cream when he was human, dancing at Cordy's party, etc.). The grinning approval and abandon are a joy to behold.
For his trust in others, even though he's been fooled time and time again over the centuries.
For throwing himself into fathering, even at the expense of his friendships and his own path.
I'm afraid I also love the light switch that is Angel's delight in being unleashed as Angelus. Reveling in the bloodshed and rediscovering the fun of the demon is played so well that I'm almost happy for the character even as he's wreaking havoc.
Spike:
For being a slave to his emotions and hating himself for it. He continually humiliates himself, human and vampire alike, trying to be loved in return.
For having such an innate sense of fun. Even though he thought bashing skulls and running amok was fun for decades, he makes it look like a good time.
For taking every opportunity to try to make Angel and Buffy lighten up and get off their "champion" high horse. I also loved him putting Buffy back on that horse in Season 7.
For his inability to shut up time and time again. It made me laugh and cringe in turns.
For fostering such rabid interest in his sex life. It's amazing how easily this character fits with everybody in the Jossverse...yes, it's delightful.

Date: 2007-03-04 03:29 am (UTC)I heart Angelus. I really really do.

Date: 2007-03-04 02:43 am (UTC)Spike, my favorite boy
1. How about how much he loves Dawn but is scared to show it, such as in the cave when he jerks his hand back before he touches her hair.
2. The care he shows for broken girls, Dru obviously, and Tara when she pulls the curtain and accidentally burns Spike. 'Play peek-a-boo with mr sun all you like, luv." *aahhh*
3. How close to the surface William really is, such as when he tells Buffy about Cecily, and sits there crying at her rejection.
4. His love for his duster, and pain when it is destroyed in 'The Girl In Question'. And his delight at getting getting a brand new one 20 minutes later.(so he's shallow, who cares ;)
5. His love of the blooming onion. I almost died laughing when he was on the bike telling Andrew the 'secret' to making it
Angel the dark hero
1. His love for his son. The moment he hears the heartbeat and knows his child has a soul. (wipes tear)
2. His utter inability to be 'hip', ballet, anyone, instead of a rap concert?
3. His fear of Cordelia. Enough said.
4. How he keeps trying to help people, even though he sees how much evil they do.
5. And how much Spike and he are so alike, but he can't stand it! Souls, hair gel, Buffy love, saving the world.
And god, they're just sooo pretty!!!

Date: 2007-03-04 03:32 am (UTC)*snickers about the duster* yeah that was totally like a small child. you take away their toy, they're only sad until you give them another one.
yes, daddy Angel gets to me (err...in both senses, actually)
dude, *I'm* a little scared of Cordy. lmao. but yeah, so funny. I think my favorite thing is when he buys her all the clothes as an apology, and totally knew it was gonna work.
no subject
Date: 2007-03-04 02:48 am (UTC)Why I love Spike:
1. He's such an insecure little boy underneath all that bravado. He just wants to be loved.
2. He loves little marshmallows.
3. He always has the perfect snarky comeback, even when simultaneously showing his insecurity ("Out-for-a-walk... bitch")
4. He stayed with Dawn.
5. He loves completely, with his whole being, whether it makes sense to do so or not. What more could you ask for?
I'll think on Angel for awhile and try to come back. I'm still a bit shaky from my fender-bender :-}

Angel
1. At heart, he's a dominant, evil bastard.
2. He's got a heart of gold even when he's a dominant evil bastard.
3. He's protective and possessive.
4. His shoulders and arms...*whimpers*...*Hold me, Daddy?*
5. He's a quiet, smoldering brooder. Makes for a hot man in the sack.
Spike
1. He's the purest form of sex on legs EVER.
2. He's a rebel at heart.
3. He's a poet at heart.
4. He's got Daddy issues same as me.
5. He's got lips made for sucking...(sucking lots of things...)

3. I love the pearls of wisdom that drop from his lips when everyone thinks he's an idiot.
4. I love that even though he thinks he's 'The Big Bad', sweet William still lives in his heart.
5. I love that even when he was bad, he was good.
Angel:
1. I love his need for family. Even though it was dysfunctional, he stepped up to protect what was his.
2. I love his ability to not take for granted the little things around him.
3. I love that he has the wisdom of the ages and knows how to use it.
4. I love how he professes to hate Spike, but always has him by his side, without question, when the chips were down.
5. I love his courage and leadership, never backing down, believing in his mission, even when the odds were against him.
Well, there you have it. No wonder I'm a Spangel slut. *g*

Date: 2007-03-04 04:31 am (UTC)i could only come up with a few, and only for angel, but here goes:
i love that as angelus he made things happen, but as angel, things happen to him. until he goes 'dark', when he makes stuff happen again. i love that this seems to baffle him.
i love that even though he keeps getting knocked down by the absurdity of existence, he keeps getting back up and trying again. even when he understands the crux of the condition, like in season 2, where he realizes that when it doesn't matter what you do, all that matters is what you do. yet, he still tries to apply his idea of order to things.
i love that usually, when he tries to do something good, he's foiled by other people's agendas. like with saving darla and connor.
i love that, regardless of his permutation: liam, angel, angelus, he always takes his 'alphaness' for granted. not in a bad way, but he just knows that he's the center of attention in any given room, and it's assumed that people will follow him. until his crisis in AtS5, c. soul purpose. which is brought about by spike. i loved watching him suffer doubt about his own specialness. and then i loved watching him assimilate and move past it. and by extension, bring spike into his world again.
an outgrowth of that is that while he expects a certain amount of respect as a leader, he also always understands his responsibilities to those in his chosen circle. yes, he did end up staking darla, but that was to save buffy. he never staked spike or dru, even though he had ample opportunity. he felt a parent's love for them. this extended, i believe, to penn and lawson. all of his progeny were safe as long as they stayed out of his way.
i loved that he always had a moment of... reluctance before he had to dust one of his own, regardless of which side of the evil line they were on.
i guess that's his paternalism. angel was pretty much never a perfect father to any of his kids: human and vampire alike, but he always cared about them. and tried his best to keep them (and his human friends) as safe as could be in his topsy-turvy world. even at the expense of his own feelings.
no subject
Date: 2007-03-04 03:54 pm (UTC)I know, he just keeps trying, bless his little heart. *pats him*
guh. yes. the man is alpha. sometimes I can make him bottom-y in human AU, but in canon...*purrs and winds herself around his legs, which is actually quite awkward when you're not a cat* even when Wes was in charge, there was still something about his presence that was the driving force.
I still have a hard time dealing with the fact that he staked darla because I believe he loved her, but I totally get what you're saying. sometimes I wonder if he didn't do it impulsively to save buffy and then go...holy crap! afterwards. but yeah, I love that he's so paternalistic, lol. alpha in the paternalistic way. now I'm getting horny. lmfao. I think he was as good of a father as he knew how to be at the time. dude had a boatload of daddy issues. which is why I think Penn was the most fucked up one, because it was so early. Spike was after he'd settled into his own a bit, so Spike still had his daddy isses but they didn't really cripple him like that. and he did a lot better with Connor, given the circmstances, because he'd had even more time.
I use any excuse to use my daddy loves his boy icon, cuz it's so fucking hot.

Date: 2007-03-04 04:47 am (UTC)You mind if I play too?
Angel
1) I love that he's such a tragic character (it's a thing! “blush”), whose journey is ultimately to lose pretty much everything he's gained along the way.
2)Even though he thinks he cannot be forgiven, he's still able to forgive others (Faith, Connor, Wes).
Oh and I love the guilt. I'm catholic...
3)His love for art and the fact that he's learned so many foreign languages.
(The short sentence he says in french - my mother tongue - in the eppy She always makes me happy. DB's accent is delightful there.
And he met Beaudelaire!!)
4)He has to fight against his own nature to do good. Sometimes he stumbles but he always gets back on the horse...
(Apparently, for some fans, that makes him less heroic. For me, it's the opposite: he probably has to try harder than anyone else...)
5)After 2 centuries of evil and loneliness, he has learned to love completely, selflessly. Even when it means removing himself from the live of the persons he loves the most (Buffy and Connor.) Sob.
I'm afraid I'm not too fond of Spike-the-later-version (don't hit me!). I really enjoyed him the first seasons though.
Here are a few things I liked about him, anyway.
1) The accent!
2) The snark.
3) Even when totally evil (pre-chip), he was still likable.
4)He's such a good observer of other people, you can build an entire episode around him without actually, really talking about him (In the Dark, Lover's Walk...) Does that make sense?
5)He's totally jealous of Angel(us)...
Thanks for starting this. It was a fun exercice!
Oh by way, I really liked Sin Eaters! And the Wayward Boys. And your human teen Spangel, whose title I can't remember. You're a good writer. Keep it up!

I totally agree with you. As he said, he never was a good man. I think he was being hard on himself there, because what we *see* of Liam doesn't make him a bad man, just a young impulsive one. which always made me wonder if there were things we didn't know....
lol, I won't hit you. I love evil Spike! and #4 totally makes sense.

I'm glad you enjoyed Sin Eaters and Wayward Boys and Won't Back Down / Backup. thanks! :)

I feel ya, sister. Here are mine.
Date: 2007-03-04 07:18 am (UTC)1. Four words: the teddy bear scene.
2. THE MAN CAN KISS. (See "Bad Eggs"--especially the end--for reference.) *fans self*
3. I love that he loves classical music and classical dance--that that part of his history never left him.
4. I love the way he was flippant with that over-the-top military guy in "Why We Fight," even though he was obviously in a situation where he did not have the upper hand.
5. He is the only person I have ever seen make a whiny voice endearing, and that is no easy feat.
Spike:
1. The affectionate way he teases everyone he cares about--his method of getting them to see when they're being buttheads or morons without coming out and saying it...usually. LOL
2. The unique, human emotional vulnerabilities he had as a vampire even pre-soul.
3. The way he goes from adoring to angry in 60 seconds because of hurt feelings. (I can so-o-o-o relate!)
4. The way he told everyone off in the Summers' home when he found out they'd thrown Buffy out. They so-o-o-o deserved it, and he said exactly what they needed to hear.
5. The things he said to Angel in "Destiny," particularly the "Drusilla sired me, but you made me a monster," and "You were too busy trying to see your own reflection, hoping that there was someone as disgusting as you in the world. Take a long look, hero. I'm nothing like you." YEAH! *bounces up and down in chair, clapping*

3. he grudgingly admits that he liked spike's poems, although spike never grudgingly admits to liking anything about angel.
4. when wesley has a nervous breakdown in season three (right before he takes connor) and starts laughing in angel's room, and angel asks him what's funny, and wesley says "life! life is funny!" angel starts laughing too, even though he doesn't really get it. he's just happy.
5. he buys cordy every kind of sandwich.
6. he puts his arms around dreamdarla and asks if he can go with her.
7. he doesn't mind walking out of his shower naked in front of eve or talking to wesley naked.
8. in pylea, he tells this story about lindsey: "and then i cut off the evil lawyerbeast's hand and he screamed and he screamed... and then i left." and grins really big.
9. in the buffy ep. "lie to me" he goes to that vampire wannabe club and complains about all the dumb kids and says that no vampire actually dresses like that, and then a guy walks by wearing his exact outfit.
10. itty bitty hockey sticks.
11. he calls it "making love."
12. he stakes elizabeth, then cordy says it's not his fault (meaning buffy's death) and he agrees, pointing out that he didn't even know who she was at the time. as though if he had known, he wouldn't have done it - because she was family, and he has a very hard time killing his family.
13. he takes off his coat (in WitW) and holds it in front of his lap to hide his erection.
14. he sniffs cordelia's hair.
15. the cops suck sign on the back of lindsey's car.
er... got a bit carried away there. and these are just the first 15 that came to me right off. heh. i'll stop now. :)

Date: 2007-03-04 09:48 pm (UTC)and oh, I totally wasn't talking about it being a slow week for posted fic. it's just that a lot of folks haven't been around. I've gotcha bookmarked. I'm going to do some reading tonight. *pets* btw, all of that dark a/x thing I told you about is up now, and no need to fear, because everyone was actually pretty damn sympathetic to Angel. I don't think anyone bashed him, actually. I was thrilled with that.

Date: 2007-03-04 12:57 pm (UTC)Spike
1. that he is a Nurturer, even when he was evil, he always seemed to take a moment to make someone feel better, even if he hated you. i think its a part of william that was never extinguished.
2. i love that he could see the truth of a situation, and always used that to his own advantage.
3. That he took everything that was thrown at him, and never gave up.
4. o.k. a weird one but i loved that he never apologized for killing the slayers, it was a fair fight and he won. end of story.
5. In A hole in the world, on the plane, he pretty much asked Angel out on a date, "Take in a show". indeed.
Angel:
1. i love that in A hole in the world, Angel, pretty much says yes to Spikes date proposal.
2. i love Angel's need for self control, cause it was so much fun when he lost it. cavemen verses astronauts, lawyers in the basement.
3. i love that a lot of Angel's desire to save Fred, i think was because he couldn't save Cordy, or Darla, or Doyle.
4. i love Angel's pride in his boys. that grin on his face when he hears Conner's in Stanford or taking no hesitation in calling Spike a champion.
5. i love that Angel knows how to give a good speech, even when people don't always listen to him.

Date: 2007-03-04 09:53 pm (UTC)I love that he never apologized for killing the slayers! love love love. that's not a weird one, imo.
and the 'hole in the world' one for each of the boys...*snerk* he totally did didn't he? and he totally said yes. aww, maybe if Spike had been in LA for Waiting in the Wings, they could have enjoyed the opera together. *snickers*
mmm, yes, I love when Angel loses control.
I'm curious what you're thinking of when you say
or taking no hesitation in calling Spike a champion
obviously he denied that Spike was flat out a few times, but I can't recall him confirming it. which is not to say that I think you're wrong. I think Angel is proud of Spike for any number of things (though he's loathe to admit it sometimes), and towards the end of the season, I can totally see him being proud of him as a champion. I'm just wondering if I'm forgetting something that you're remembering. *strains her brain*

Date: 2007-03-04 02:16 pm (UTC)1. I love that no matter how much life/people knock him down, he always gets back up again.
2. I love that he can make a crypt not only cosy but posh.
3. I love that he had such a huge heart as a human and that he managed to keep that quality when becoming a demon.
4. I love his sarcastic sense of humour and his bluster but underneath it all he’s very sensitive and insecure.
5. I love the way he changed his nature, from an evil vampire to dying to save the world. He came such a long way on his own, and not only without help but with others constantly disbelieving his good intentions and putting him down.
I found it really hard to limit that to 5, there’s so much I love about Spike. I’m gonna be naughty and do a 6th though because I love this about him:
6. He can get away with wearing a woman’s coat.

Date: 2007-03-04 09:58 pm (UTC)he did come a long way. *pets him*
6. He can get away with wearing a woman’s coat.
I totally have never ever ever ever thought of it that way. BWAHAHAHAHA. I love you *uses her Spike/Duster icon*

Date: 2007-03-04 04:39 pm (UTC)1. I love that he can cook, and it is never explained where or why he learned to cook. But he seems like the type of person who, upon asking, would whip up this huge, deliscious meal out of things he found in his cupboards.
2. I love that he imagined himself dancing like a big spaz. I tmakes me picture him zoning out when Wesley is lecturing and picturing a giant dancing taco or something.
3.He so clearly has a biting sense of sarcasm (S.1 Buffy, and Angelus) but he almost never uses it. I like to think it's because he's worried he'll hurt his friends' feelings.
4. He is so metrosexual. And tries so hard to deny it :)
5. He makes me feel so bad about his angst that I just want to snuggle him until he feels better, much like I would a puppy.

LMFAO. oh man. oh man. *pictures again and giggles*
I never thought about his restraint of his sarcasm before. *pets him* maybe that's where Spike learned it, lol.
again I say, is it still called metrosexual if he fucks
menSpike? LOL.I would probably snuggle him...slightly differently than I would snuggle a puppy, but I'm with you :)
I loved your list! *high fives*

Date: 2007-03-04 05:42 pm (UTC)1. I loved what a goofy dork he turned into in Pylea. 'Look at me over here in the sunlight. Not burning up.' And when he saw his reflection and what his hair looked like.
2. Daddy Angel when Connor was a baby. So protective and proud.
3. Even though he didn't want to leave Buffy he knew he had to and so he did.
4. He can't live with Spike but he can't live without him.
5. "I kinda wanna slay the dragon."

Date: 2007-03-04 10:05 pm (UTC)and Daddy Angel. *sighs happily* fatherhood...it's not just a kink. *weird look at herself*

Date: 2007-03-05 09:35 am (UTC)I will only talk about Spike though, not because I don't like Angel , on the contrary , only I don't know enough about him I think.
So five things about Spike :
- His impulsiveness
-His addictive obsessive tendencies
- How he wears his heart on his sleeve.. his vulnerability in many circumstances involving his heart
-At his core , he's someone who never gives up
-His undying love for Buffy, of course. :)
I loved his interactions with Angel most of the times in Ats season 5.
